AT&T Inc has officially unveiled their first Android smartphone that offered with AT&T’s GoPhone service, the Samsung Galaxy Appeal. The Galaxy Appeal is low end smartphone that pre-installed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, so you can easy to update your status on social network site or writing email to your colleagues.
Physically, Samsung Galaxy Appeal is similars with Samsung Galaxy Q and also comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA TFT LCD display with support resolutions at 480×320 pixel. It’s also lacks front facing camera for video callings and only have singgle camera on the back with 3 megapixel camera with support 3x zoom for capture photos and video recording. The 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A processor that paired with 512MB of RAM is chosen as the heart of the device to gives enough power to ensure smoother and more responsive operation.
The smartphone also equipped with a 1.8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expandable storage capacity up to 32GB and a 1300 mAh Lithium ion battery that gives up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 300 hours o standby time on single charge. Dimensions of the device are 4.41 x 2.27 x 0.56 inch with weighs only at 4.3 oz and working on GSM Quad-band: 850/900/1800/1900MHz and UMTS Tri-band: 850/1900/2100MHz.
AT&T Galaxy Appeal is a basic smartphone, so you can not use it for playing HD games or watching Netflix movies, but it’s good phone, especially for the price. If you interested, Samsung Galaxy Appeal will be available at Walmart starting June 5, 2012 for around $149 outright and in AT&T GoPhone store starting on July 15, 2012 with the same price. For data plan, you can choose from 50MB of usage for $5 per month, 200MB for $15 per month or 1GB of data usage for $25 per month.
